The M.P. Employees Selection Board (formerly MPPEB) conducts a Written exam for recruitment of various Technical and Non-Technical Posts of Subedar, Sub-Inspector (SI) and Platoon Commander. The exam comprises three stages: Preliminary Examination (Written Examination), Physical -Physical Measurement Test and Physical Proficiency Test and finally the Personality Test (interview).

The MP Police SI Selection Process-

 

  1. Written test– The MP Police SI exam begins with a written exam which has two papers (total 300 marks) for recruiting MP Police Sub-Inspector. Paper-I is technical for technical posts and paper-II is non-tech for both technical and non-technical posts. The exam has multiple-choice questions available in both Hindi and English.
  • The first paper is only for those candidates who are applying for the post of Sub Inspector in a technical department having questions from Science (Maths, Physics, Chemistry) subjects. The maximum marks are 100 & the exam duration is 2 hours.
  • The second paper will be common to both the Technical and Non-Technical types of posts with questions checking the efficiency of candidates in Hindi & English language, and General Knowledge (Maths, Science: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, MP GK, History, Geography, Indian Polity, Economics, Current Affairs & Reasoning). The maximum marks are 200 & the exam duration is 3 hours.

 

  1. Physical Proficiency Test (PPT): Upon qualifying the written exam, candidates will be required to appear for a physical test where they will be evaluated based on several assigned tasks including an 800-meter race, long jump, and shot put.

  1. Interview: After passing the initial two stages, the candidate will proceed to a personal interview session, during which a panel will evaluate their soft skills, personality, character, and other relevant factors. The interview will be scored out of 10 marks, and a strong performance is essential for the candidate to be considered for the position of Police SI. Adequate preparation is highly recommended to increase the chances of success in the interview round.

Educational qualification-

 

The minimum educational qualification for the sub-inspector for different departments is a graduation degree or its equivalent from a recognized university. The post wise qualification is given below.

Physical Standards-

 

To ensure their suitability for the role of Sub Inspector, candidates will undergo physical testing based on the MP Police SI eligibility criteria, which includes the following physical measurements:

  • The candidate must not have Knock-knee, Flat-Foot, and any vision disability.
  • The candidate should not be physically handicapped and must be medically fit.

Age Limit- The candidate must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of 25 years (for the General category candidate). Prescribed age limits vary with respect to caste reservations.

 

Age-Relaxation to Natives of Madhya Pradesh:

Male (Unreserved) – Up to 33 years of age.

Females (Unreserved)/ Male/Female (SC/ST/OBC) / Employees of Official/Corporate/ Mandal/ Autonomous Organizations – Up to 38 years of age.
